The Long Awaited - Baltimore Newborn Photographer

I have had two babies and have no clue what 'going into labor' is like - both of my girls had to be coaxed to come out and meet us.

Not everything happens like it does in the movies, that is for sure. There was no "I'm in labor!!" wake up call in the middle of the night to my husband - who then hurriedly rushed around the house to get everything together and rush me to the hospital running every light and speeding the whole way. Nope. Nada.

It was totally the opposite - there was a lot of waiting and waiting...

Waiting as I hit 40 weeks with no sign of anything happening, waiting while my due date past, waiting as they gave me medicine to induce, waiting for everything to happen...just wait, wait and wait some more.

Then there are always the people who ask you when you are due, to which you respond "three days ago" and you get the weird looks. Not fun. Not fun is the fact that you are only supposed to be pregnant for 40 weeks, not 41. Not fun are all of the phone calls and emails "is the baby here yet??" to which after about 3 days and multiple phone calls and emails I began to answer "Yes she is! oh, you mean Jimmy forgot to call you??"

So when I am on call to set up appointments for newborn photos off of the baby's due date - I am always hesitant to email the Moms when it is a few days past their due date and I haven't heard from them yet. As I know exactly how they feel.

This little sweetheart was one of those cases - I totally sympathize. She is perfect in every way and just wanted to wait for the right time. Not too big, not too small, just right. And adorable.

Nina and Rich - thank you so much for allowing me to capture your adorable little girl. She was an amazing subject - she loved my swaddle which always makes me happy :) I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
